Mrs Spedding’s Year 9s have been producing some lovely creative writing

As the light struck through the sky, the music of the crashing waves intensified making every movement feel hazardous. The adrenaline building up inside of the murky waters spewed a thick mist into the air, carrying the screams of the captives beneath the waves, all being dragged along by its pure strength. The crowd of clouds watched it awe, cluttering the sky and watching the conditions deteriorating by the second beneath them.

Ethereal. Mesmerising. Indulgent. Silently, the sun lay low fabricating perplexing waves of orange along the distant, hazy horizon like the waves on a sandy beach drawing in under the heavenly sunset sky.  The  acres of light of the urban skyline gradually faded as the sun set over tranquil landscape as the night grew ever closer. Without reason or measure it stretched like a vast blanket over the soaring skyscrapers and envelops the chaotic, crowded city.

As the sun sets for a night’s rest, its splattered colour now consuming the evening sky, it peeped over the horizon, able to blind anyone in a split second. The beams of light reflected of the tall buildings rippling through the glass of the city, shining down onto my face and filling me with warmth until I couldn’t feel an ounce of coolness surging through my body and goose bumps grew on my skin. Skyscrapers were like a carpet, covering any greenery left below the fast growing industry. Clouds cluttered the sky, slowly fading the vibrant colours of the sunset. The contrast of the bustling city and the calm ocean harbour was serene, the sound of the waves crashing against the boats attacking the layers of the paint on the rotting wood. The sails trying to reach above the towering buildings just for an ounce of sunlight, and the overwhelming smell of sea air. Pure bliss. From the tops of the highest buildings you could see for miles and miles, never reaching to an end wondering if it would ever come to a halt and have a strike of lush green hills once again.
