The dream of gender equality is rooted in the hearts of all women in this world.

Misogyny is consuming our society, intoxicating the minds of others and slowly chipping away at this dream, this perfect dream.

I have a dream, a dream, that one day women will rise to be free to make their own choices; that one-day women will rise and be equal to men; that one-day women will rise and not suffer at the hand of male violence.

I have a dream that women will soon be standing together with men and no longer be classed as female leaders but just leaders.

I have a dream that places which are drowning in the sea of violence, drowning in the sea of inequality and drowning in the sea of oppression will emerge to become places of safety, equality and liberty.

This fight should no longer be a female fight but a human fight so we can all rise together and conquer the sexism that causes the poverty and vulnerability to 300,000 girls forced into child marriages each and every year.

How can we say that women are truly equal to men when at its current rate it will take 108 years for the gender pay gap to be closed?

I want to see the end of sexist comments in the media. I want to see the end of the gender pay gap. I want to see the end of domestic abuse.

I have a dream, a precious dream, that one day equality, liberty and security will cast away the discrimination and persecution present in today’s society.
