One of Miss Latham’s Year 8s has written this poem, inspired by Wilfred Owen’s Anthem for Doomed Youth

What do they learn, the youth of today?

When do they learn respect?

Surely there must be a kind of way,

To teach them what we expect?

Why do they think that the elderly,

are dirty, old and worn out, like a used tissue?

They always think, “It’s all about me,”

and this is a huge issue.

They’re stuck onto their phones,

and don’t care about what life was like in the past.

And if we hear a child moan,

We know they won’t be the last.

Children must learn gratitude,

And throw away their disgusting, awful attitude.
