Dear Father,
I am writing to explain to you about my opinion on my marriage.
You see, I don’t want to marry Demetrius! You say that Lysander and Demetrius are both worthy of being my husband. So therefore, I should have the option of choosing my significant other. Remember that this man will be my husband for the rest of my life. Just imagine my situation right now, I have the choices to either spend the rest of my life with a man I don’t even love or to put myself up for execution. You have to consider my feelings as well. After all it is not your life, it is my life and I will be living it! I LOVE Lysander and will do whatever it takes to marry the love of my life.
Yours sincerely,
Your beloved daughter,
Hermia.
Dear Hermia,
I don’t care weather you want to marry Demetrius or not! I am your father and I will decide who you marry. Yes, they are both worthy, but Demetrius is more of a gentleman. You don’t know what you’re talking about, neither do any of the women in our area. I know you will have to live with him for the rest of your life, but I know better than you. Remember that you ALSO have the choice to become a nun. You can work along-side your aunt! I’m sure she will love that. If I have to say to you one more time that Lysander won’t be your husband then I will tell Theseus to execute you.
Yours sincerely,
Your father.
