Year 8 Poetry Winners

Sorry

Sorry… I guess.

Sorry I didn’t say it how you like it.

Sorry that I did to you what you’ve done to me

A thousand times.

Sorry for still feeling bad about it.

The empathy is killing me.

In one ear “turn the other cheek”

“Give them a taste of their own medicine” in the other…

But I think that I’m the one

That needs to medicate,

Because everybody’s

So quick to hate

While I apologise for your mistake.

But I’m not a victim

Because victims just

Want attention

I’m just mad.

Sorry I’m mad

Who decided that different

Was a crime? When unique is such a

Human desire.

But all we do is toe the line,

And lie and say that we’re fine.

Sorry… but I won’t say sorry anymore
